Thanks Angela, for the posting, as I guess we've all commented on
RF Vs. Internet, and for me in regards to the YL @WW on Packet,
well the Internet didn't solve for some the lack of not being
able to re-connect to Packet and here or just a BBS to see...
whats up.
It went deeper then that with what is best described as "bricks"
as opposed to YL @WW and it's "Balloons".
This is the reason the YL Net on Yahoo was setup to getaway from
those tossing "Bricks" ...and they have done so, and all seemingly
migrated there, where just about every week I get a few postings
from the net ...but when I reply it isn't the same, as WE might
miss a new packeteer YL who might be looking for such a net.
Yes, I know why the RF links went down and got replaced by the
Internet, and yeah all the arguments, and trying to get links
worldwide, using Ontario's RF links and other as an example of
what could be done. I even set aside an HF radio for the links
here in Ontario but never heard from anyone, and well also that
might be because I am medical retired, and I DO need help getting
the HF wires back up to participate, but I have heard from other
stations out there the desire to try.
Yes, YL @WW might be a bit silent, but not dead yet .... I see
none of the " ... " @WW dead or whatever, only that someone is
waiting for someone to say something, or they don't want to be
that one to start and fail to get it going.
You know well my attendance on Echolink and the YL nets there...I
am lucky if I can remember, let alone get the time right, and
when I do tune in now...well it has mushroomed and grown to
people I really don't know , and well it isn't the crowd I
had as ...well it is just a feeling.
OK ..better go ... Frost on the Pumkin this morning, and
the sun is coming up, and leafs are falling like snow, which
is a nice scene with these yellowish reddish mix coming down
in the morning sun.

and online, and keeping the system going, along with the other
sysops. BTW at the end of this month we loose a BBS in CANADA
as VE2 something closes down. Gervais VE2CKN the sysop is retiring
and ...well I will miss him.
