Hi Kobus and readers.
Not quite 95% are personal attacks and/or garbage unless you have a
serious problem with packet censoring sysops using extreme favoritism,
one possibility. Follow this please.
If you "filter out" read "ignore" bulletins from the UK and those
replying to them, what you have left is a sensible and informative
discussion, as usual. This is the sole criteria which can be applied
fairly since far to may can't separate the subject from the callsign. In
short, most people with the exception mentioned above (they have proven
themselves continually for years) write informatively and in a courtious
manner unless provoked.
So, what am I saying here? No, not ALL UK Amateurs are lids with a sharp
edge, but there sure are enough of them to provoke others into verbal
wars thus giving the UK a reputation for being a bunch of sour pusses and
troublemakers. Just look over the last hundred bulls and count the ones
filled with venom, then sort them out. You'll see as I have that they run
about 60/40 in favor of a group of UK packeteers provoking and slandering
others with the remainder being provoked responses of one sort or another.
Mind you that not all are on the subject of WLAN, they run the gamut back
to a UK ham having a personal axe to grind over a US ham he doesn't like.
He is a sysop who has compiled an archive of bulls sent by this US ham
over the years and chose to resurrect one of his own sent repeatedly over
the years, but with enough time betwween that he thinks we'll mistake it
for something new. Every time this US ham gets back into a discussion
this UK sysop digs out something and slanders him with it. They're all
repeats, the terms used, the peculiar sort of name calling, everything
easily recognized, we've seen it all before many times.
Now the bottom line here is if the hard core of UK troublemakers are
eliminated the rest including myself would have not a bad word to say
about what remains. Oh, that'll never happen, they'll continue to shift
the blame, ban certain rather vocal callsigns such as tis one and cry
"innocent" when the skunk is in THIER freakin' garden, not the one across
the pond or down under, another of thier favorite targets.
Once again, I'm not slandering all UK hams, just pointing out where the
troublemakers are, the troublemakers who always cry "Who, ME?" and shift
the blame to those who speak against them. You guys across the pond are a
jolly good lot and I love the daylights out of you, just do us all a
favor and take out the trash, your house is beginning to stink.
OK, now lets get back to what this is supposed to be all about, a
technical discussion, NOT a forum for griping!
