One does not need to modify the protocol.
You must, however, turn off encryption.
SNOS (and probably the other xNOS as well) allow for the normal
beacon frames, which will be seen by any other radio on the channel.

Jerry, we should be looking at HOW we can use our bands,
not WHY WE CANNOT use our bands. We are not operating
under part 15 but part 97.
