Well, I have been on VHF since 1955 and in all that 51 years I have rarely
heard such good conditions on SIX as there have been over the last two
weeks. Beacons VK8, VK4, VK3 VK2 and VK5 heard, all states except VK9
worked, all on sporadic E.
Then came the news that VK6 in Perth worked two metres into Tasmania (VK7)
- a first, but almost certainly on sporadic E. Distance close to 3700 km.
It will be interesting to see what eventuates over the Xmas weekend. Maybe
Santa will come to the amateur population.
Bob VK6BE.
