The last few days in the UK have meant high pressure and dense fog have been
in evidence, and normally associated with good tropo.
Hardly a thing came of it, rf wise :-(

Looks like we are both part of the few that still keep our ears on the rx
over the xmas period.
The only evidence of life at the moment seems to be on 28Mhz, which is
unusual. Not sure if SpE or F2, but last week saw an opening to the
caribbean (obviously F2).
And yet the rest of HF bands are pants at the moment, well below par.
I've been calling CQ on your favourite band 6m, but not a thing.
I also had a play with my FT817 on 6m, and I can access the GB3AM repeater
in Amersham, about 70 miles away with complete ease. (I've NEVER heard
anyone use it!).
No wonder many call it SICK METRES, 2 megs worth and an utter waste of space.
However I will (hopefully) try and make some QSO's during the RSGB's
contents in a few days time.
