Hi Paul,

Most of the latest list connect to a 'filtered' port on the server
(14580). These ports require that you include a filter statement in
your logon before they will send you data.

The filter statement goes in the 'Extra logon text' box at the bottom
of the server setup screen and must begin with the word 'filter'.

A simple filter statement would look like "filter m/250 ", which
would ask the server to send you all stations within 250km of your
position. (You must beacon a position to the server).

More information on filters can be found at
http://www.aprs2.net/wiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FilterGuide

hope this helps

filter m/250 in 'Extra log-on text' fixed it first time.

I'll read up on filters in the link you sent.

Many thanks,

Glad to hear that you got it sorted out. It appears that you are using
M1PWT both on RF and in UI-View. If you add an SSID to one installation,
there will be less confusion.
