I looked at the Yahoo user group, but I don't think the tiny amount
of owners represents enough good info.

I have a Yaesu VX7R with usual mods.

I can't wish for a better handheld, and only for 200 sobs new.

The Alinco only offers 23cms over the Yaesu, and the cost of the Alinco
makes it difficult to justify adding it to my collection.

Maybe in a years time when someone has had a sensible pricing review, but
not at the moment.

I wonder how you feel Charlie, as I know you have a VX7R too.

As for a DSTAR handy, not even on my radar - even the Alinco would take
precedence over DSTAR.

Talking of prices, I see some silly ones recently, as much as 25% up
upon recent months. The dealers must be getting desperate.

Certainly glad I got my FT817ND a few years ago when they were at a
very low price ;-)
