Yuma, Arizona Naval F4 Fighter Pilot Watches Red Objects From His Home
Date: November, 1978
Time: After dusk.
Location of Sighting: Yuma, Arizona.
Number of witnesses: 3

Shape of Objects: Round.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: My father was a Naval F4 fighter pilot at
Yuma's Naval Air
Station. We lived on base housing and our housing unit looked south toward the
Mexican border,
over a chain link fence and on the other side miles of large citrus groves.
My dad had a nightly habit before bed of going out on the patio during the
spring or fall when it
cooled down to smoke his cigars/pipes. My mom wouldn't let him smoke in the
house.
I was 9 at the time and would not even remember the event if my parents and
the neighbors
hadn't made such a big deal about it.
My mom called me down from my room, out on to the back porch, where my dad was
standing
out in the yard instead of sitting in his chair smoking. They pointed to a
bright red light hovering
toward the mountain range in the distance (maybe 15 miles away?). It was
large enough to make
out a disk shape (not a point like a star, but more like Mars with a
discernable disc). It did not do
much - just hovered perfectly still for a few minutes.
After a few minutes a small point of red light descended from the larger one
toward the ground.
I think it joined again (that is the story I had heard from my mom), but
honestly, I do not
remember where they went. I was only 9 and quite frankly lost interest after
ten or so minutes of
standing in the cold. My parents would not take their eyes off of it though,
and stayed outside
in the cold air for at least another hour talking about it. I went inside.
One reason I have never forgotten or dismissed the incident, is that the next
day, my mom cut
out a news paper clipping of a boarder patrol agent or police (can't remember
which) that was
much closer to the sighting and he described in detail exactly what we had
seen. The paper also
said that a large number of reports had been made to the police and a large
number of inquiries
were also called in to the naval base dispatchers and military police.
We never got any more information from the base or papers, or news, so I
tucked it away in my
memory, and only really think about it when I come across someone talking
about a similar
incident. I happened onto another post on your website by (name removed), that
seems to
describe what I believe is the same sighting.
This event may have been military testing, or something covert, but it was not
fabricated.
Thousands of people stood watching something they had never seen before that
night in Yuma,
some of which were naval pilots and ground crew living/working on the base
that shared their
experience with my dad.
I only post this so that (name removed) and others who might have been in Yuma
during that
time will know that other people saw this as well.

Description: I remember this from childhood, my step dad was in the 22 Royal
Engineers we was
posted to Germany the exact time and date I cannot remember, what I do
remember is I was
about 5 or 6 we was both playing upstairs in his room which was located on the
top floor.
My friend (name removed) noticed it and grabbed me to look. From what I
remember of the ufo
was that it was brightly lit with multi coloured lights and round like a yo-yo
on its side, it was
quite a distance away and we was staring at it for how long I couldn't say but
we both ended up
running downstairs to his father and telling him to come with us upstairs to
have a look. He saw
the funny side of it and started waving a cup and saucer laughing at us
telling us we was seeing
things. When we went upstairs again it was gone.
I think if it was a mirage I would have forgot about it but I still do think
off it quite frequently.
Curiosity more than anything made me type in a google search u.f.o. Sightings
Germany 1980
and I was directed to your site. I will try and find out some more exact
details of when I was
there but I think an exact date of the sighting I do not know but maybe there
might be someone
who may have reported some similar report of seeing a ufo hope this is off
some use.

A 1997 UFO Sighting Over Mitcham, London, England

Hi, Thought I would share this with you, as I have told many people over the
years and all I have
got as a response is " oh yeah, sure", well about 12 years ago in Mitcham as I
was walking home
down the path from Grove Road which leads on to Eastfields Estate, adjacent to
the high school.
Directly above me was an unusual circular shadowy shape. There were 2 circles
inside each other
spinning in different directions with smaller circles on the outside also
spinning round. You can
imagine I thought I was imagining this, but on the journey home this seemed to
follow me along
my journey. Before reaching my block though the shape moved further away and
vanished. Well
thought this might be of interest to you.

Last night around 7 o'clock myself and my wife were sat down eating our
evening
meal when my wife said what the hell is that, so I got up out of my chair and
looked out of the
window. There was a big bright orange/red object moving across the sky from
west to east and
no faster than a plane and was probably about 600 700 ft up. As the object
disappeared behind
the flats out side our property I went out side to investigate more.
The bright object re-appeared form the other side of the flats and slowly
disappeared into the
distance. The thing that got me was that the object had no sound to it and
there was a plane
coming from the same direction underneath this object and I could hear the
plane quite clearly
but the object was closer to me than the plane. Do you have any idea what it
was as I don't
believe in UFOs but now my views are slightly different now.

Description: Outside of a mall in Cancun, 4 of us observed people looking up
at the night sky
and noticed many small white objects at first looked like the stars but than
began to move and
dart around in different directions, and appeared to be chasing and making
formations, at one
time there were four together and than disappeared and re-appeared and
following each other,
when a cloud would appear, they would go toward the cloud and would be above
the cloud out
of sight.

Chino, California A Round Gold Colored UFO

Description: I was laying in bed and saw a round gold colored light. Thinking
it was an airplane,
I kept watching. It didn't pass as quickly as a plane or helicopter. It almost
hesitated then kept
going. I told my husband "that's weird" so he looked. He watched it for a
couple minutes then
ran outside. The light got really bright then disappeared completely. The
light came back on to
normal so we tried to gab the camera. By the time we got it, the light was
completely gone.
Afterwards a couple planes flew by near where it was, so definitely not a
plane!

Port Erin, Isle of Man An Orange Circular Light

Description: Standing outside the Cherry Orchard Hotel I saw in the distance
an orange circular
light in the low sky heading from Port Erin bay. It travelled directly towards
the hotel and as it
neared it was rather like a glowing orange football. It passed over the hotel
at no great speed and
I called two other people to witness the event. It carried straight on not
turning left or right or
higher/lower and I watched it until it went out of sight. I am used to seeing
aircraft over head at
night which are quite distinctive in the lighting arrangements and this not
fit a description of that.
No sound what so ever accompanied the sighting, also the Isle of Man airport
is closed at this
time of night.

UFOINFO Note: As with other similar reports I asked the witness to have a look
at the UFO
Balloons website to see if this is what might have been seen and received the
following reply:
Thanks for your reply. I checked out the web site you mentioned prior to
reporting the sighting
and feel certain that my sighting was not a ufo balloon. The sighting I
witnessed was purely
circular and was moving through the sky at a steady speed with no deviation in
its trajectory. I
watched the object for approximately 3 minutes from coming into sight until
disappearing from
my vision. A possible coincidence happened the 16th February when a colleague
of my son who
lives in Somerset was out with his young son just as it was dark and saw a
very similar sight in
the evening sky to what I had seen. Described by him as a completely circular
shape orange/red
in colour passed over Yeovil. Joe described it as a football shaped orange/red
ball with no
accompanying sound.

Corvallis, Oregon UFO Falling Comes To A Hover

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was outside on the back porch, the sky
was very clear
and looking west at the stars with Venus to the SW. Suddenly a round, bright
white, a
somewhat bluish light appeared about ten degrees N of due west at around 50
degrees above the
horizon. It was nearly twice as bright/large as Venus which I could see to the
SW. It descended
rapidly straight down as soon as it appeared, did not leave a trail of any
sort, brightness and size
increased slightly and in around 4 seconds got to about a thumb and half's
width at arms length
above the horizon over the low hills to the west. At this point, it stopped
descending and a tight,
short, rainbow-like cone appeared on the trailing side, but the cone was not
much longer than the
object was wide. The colors reminded me of soft neon lights. It hovered for
almost two seconds,
cone and all, before suddenly disappearing, like turning out a light.
Distance was hard to judge,
but I'd guess that at the point where it stopped above the horizon it was ~15
or 20 miles away.
Two nights later around 22:30 PST, another clear night, another light appeared
at nearly the same
position in the west as before, and was moving at about the same pace as
before but traveling
ESE, going almost overhead. It just suddenly disappeared, no cone this time,
about 45 deg.

plane, and it wasn't
quite as bright, as if it were further away maybe. It was visible for a total
of around 8 or 10
seconds.
I'm a licensed aircraft mechanic so I have a good familiarity with flying
craft. I couldn't explain
these two events as either a meteor or satellite so thought I'd submit them
here.

Romford Essex UK A Huge Bright Orange Light

Sir, I have just read some reports of a huge bright orange light over Loughton
Essex In 2005. I
live In Romford Essex just a few miles away from Loughton. Last Monday
evening 16 March
'09 at 20.00hrs, I was looking into the cloudless sky from my living room and
watching a number
of planes circling above in a stacking bay waiting to land at Heathrow
airport. Suddenly a huge
bright orange light appeared in the sky, much lower than the stacking planes
and perhaps even
lower than the planes that I could also see that had just taken off from
London City airport.
The orange light was shaped like an upright barrel. I ran out to my back
garden with my partner
and my 12 year old son. We captured the light on a run of the mill digital
camera and on my
sons mobile phone (video) but neither image is convincing. Travelling from
the south, it then
turned east virtually above my house and then seemed to increase in speed. It
then just
disappeared as if someone had turned of a light. Its speed was faster than
any of the aircraft that
we could see. I telephoned Sky News but they thought I was crazy. (surprise,
surprIse). I also
called London City airport to see if any of their pilots had reported the
sighting but again, they
thought I was mad. We know what we saw and it definitely wasn't an aeroplane,
airship or a
balloon. It was an experience that we will never forget.

Shape of Objects: Round.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: My mom, dad, sister, and I had gone out to
see a space
launch, but I had only a pair of binoculars since it would take to long to set
up a telescope. My
sister had thought she had seen it, so I took a look, and sure enough, there
was something there.
There was one thing that made me think of extra terrestrials-there was no jet
stream or fire/smoke
coming out of the back. At first I had believed that I was crazy, but I have
had this feeling
before and when I feel it, it usually meant it'd be best to run. So the space
launch had been
supposed to be seen in the south, but I then saw the real space shuttle and at
the moment it was
flying strait over head going north while staying at the same altitude which
was only a little
higher than an airplane's flight path. This whatever-it-is was a grayish
silver, but it seemed like it
was emitting light while it had something like craters or black lights (they
were blurry) on it.
Don't say it was a meteor, because it wasn't even singed. This was fast, but
if it was a meteor, I
wouldn't have been able to focus on it so good.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was sitting down outside having a ciggie
and I noticed a
really bright plane (or so I thought) light in front of me. It was so bright,
it made the light look
diamond shaped. I kept watching as it was a very bright light (which would
mean the plane
should be coming towards me) but realized it was actually travelling from west
to east in front of
me. I then noticed it didn't have any plane undercarriage or wing lights
flashing and there was no
noise. I then noticed it was travelling faster than a plane should be at that
altitude (we live
around 25 miles from Gatwick airport so planes do pass by). I then started to
get excited as I
have never seen a UFO. Then the light started to travel upwards very fast
(still in an easterly
direction) towards the stars and disappeared before my eyes. The night was
clear and starry with
no moon, I was sober and there was no wind or other witnesses. What next?

Shape of Objects: Cylinder.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: My girlfriend, my friend and I were in my
hot tub in the
backyard (no we weren't drinking alcohol or doing drugs and the hot tub jets
were off). I love to
watch the sky at night and frequently see planes flying at various altitudes
and going in different
directions. This was very different so I had to report and research it.
I saw the cylindrical object fly directly overhead around 11:50pm and
immediately pointed it out
to the other 2 people present. My girlfriend could not see it before it
disappeared over the
neighboring house, but my friend could (it was very faint in the night sky).
It had 2 red dim
lights on the belly that were not flashing at the front and back of the object
and it was moving
very quickly across the sky from west to east. There was no sound before,
during, or after the
fly-by so I immediately thought it was a high-flying plane but the lights were
dim red and spaced
far enough apart that I knew it was closer to the ground. It was also moving
much too fast to be
a high plane. The sound from the engine was expected but nothing could be
heard at all. We
tried to justify what we saw and explain it but we could not.
I am hoping someone has an explanation for what we saw because I am sure it
was not a plane or
a helicopter. It was silent and low-flying and had no flashing lights to mark
the wings like planes
do.
