I have been looking for Makelist. I did put out a bull and went to the
F1EBN and F6FBB sites to see if it was included with TPK. Then I went to a
couple of Winpack sites, as Makelist was written by Roger,G4IDE long
before he wrote Winpack.

Later, rummaging through my software, I found an old, dusty floppy. It had
Makelist on it but EDITEXEC.EXE was corrupted. I found Roger's description
of how and why he wrote it, so, in light of his recent demise, I thought
some people might be interested in seeing how he thought back then, as a
TPK user. He had written other software before but it was Winpack which
made him famous.

I do have an early version (beta) of Winpack. No voices, bells or
whistles, no HTML but still too big for my PC at the time, with it's 2MB
RAM.

I carried on using TPK while I watched others using newer releases of
Winpack. I even sent missing pictures and software for the HTML version
when that was the craze. I put some things in my TPK UPLOAD file and
people would REQFIL them. I even looked at some of the msgs with Netscape
but I had to run TPK from Windows to do that.
Anyway, heres some of that "Blast from the past" from the old floppy:

                            ----------------

MAKELIST for TPK (c) Roger Barker, G4IDE
                 ----------------------------------------

Introduction
------------
I wrote MAKELIST for two reasons:-

1. I think TPK is an excellent piece of software, that adds a new
dimension
to the use of packet BBS's. It's a great pity that some sysops of
FBBS's
can't see this - probably because they've never used it. However,
they
control the BBS's and if they choose not to enable the
unproto
transmissions that TPK needs, then they are entitled to make that
decision.

At the moment, the unproto transmissions are enabled on my home
BBS,
GB7DTX. So, if you're reading this Mick, thanks!

Conclusion
----------
I hope MAKELIST works for you, if it doesn't - well I tried my best!
It's
certainly not the best tested piece of software that I've ever released,
so
report your problems and I'll try and fix them in version 2.
