On ftp://sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/devel/msdos you can download
binutils-2.6.go32.tar.gz
djdev200.go32.tar.gz
gcc-2.7.2.go32.tar.gz
for a GCC cross compiler system for DJGPP/GO32 under Linux.
(It should be very simple to build a cross compiler, libraries and
binutils for any other Unix)
I was able to cross compile a working net.exe for GO32 under Linux
with minimal changes to the makefile (to point gcc, ar, as and
coff2exe to the cross compiler versions)
Also there's a couple files with DOS-isms that make gcc in Unix
choke: ie #include <sys\foo.h> instead of <sys/foo.h>.
The only other caveat is to use unzip -a, or use dos2unix to convert
the MSDOS end of lines to unix format, other wise make and gcc
choke on the source.
Good work Phil!

This started me wondering... has anyone considered an OS/2 build? The EMX
port
of GCC provides a rather thorough emulation of the Socket API on OS/2.

An OS/2 build of NOS or of the cross compilation tools? The cross
compiler would be simple. A port of NOS to OS/2 would be more
complicated. PMNOS could be a possible starting point, but GCC
can't compile it as is.
