has anyone gotten a Kantronics KPC-3 Packet TNC to work with Linux? I'm
trying to set AX.25 and TCP/IP up with it but the signal doesn't ever
seem to get to the TNC. Any help would be appreciated.

Darren I suggest you get the source for JNOS and any version later
than 1.0 will have the kiss driver. In fact the very earliest net also has a
kiss driver and that source code was just made available (see last week
digest).
These are drivers for DOS but as your father is doing, you can run
JNOS in a window of windows. I think a windows program could use almost the
same code. But I have not written anything for a window.

The "kiss" interface type in NOS is a misnomer: it supports multidrop KISS
piggybacked onto the "asy" interface type, and most of the real KISS code is
built into the "asy" interface.

Under Windows, TCP/IP application programs expect to have access to a Winsock
layer, which in turn expects to have access to a MAC layer such as NDIS. DOS
has no standard method for accessing the TCP/IP stack, and NOS is a monolithic
