Excellent... I'm going to check that out now. I had no idea MRA had awarded
a research grant for APRS. I haven't been personally involved, but the
SBCSAR team has been doing some mutual aid down there (San Bernardino)
lately. Interoperability would be nice, but at the very least we'll need to
avoid interference.

Do a search on "Link700" and you'll find some pages from some folks who are
programming the THD7 interactively using Visual Basic software. I'm not sure
that you can use a keyboard without some brains (a PDA or perhaps a
dedicated PIC module) but there's a lot there to start with.

Rich will have to answer definitively, but there are two possible causes on
the APRS end. First, the backup findU server has been down for some time.
They had a hardware issue which has been resolved, and are in the process
of re-installing the software. Most of the direct access users are on the
backup server, because the risk is too high of a bad query bogging down the
server. I think Rich may have an account on the primary server, so this may
not be the problem.
I have never tried the site, as my phone handles the regular findU pages
fine, but perhaps he is using the MapBlast maps, which of course are no
longer with us. In this case though you ought to see an error message to
the effect of improper settings.
Finally, on your end, WAP is pretty touchy, it may be an incompatibility
with your phone. After chasing this for a few times on findU's pages I gave
up, and was very glad Rich came up with his own solution.

Eric and all!
I look at all this and past it on to Roger! He found it and repaired
UI-View. Had nothing to do with PRKRAZ-1 other than what was passing thru
it. The bug had been there a while but until this situation appeared, no
one had tested it!
Anyway....Roger has released an important update on the UI-View Sig.

Has anyone tried hacking into any of the GPSs that attach to the Palm
Pilots?
Was wondering if they might be useful, low cost, guts for repackaging for
trackers?
