I was commenting more on the broader picture of this, once folks start
sticking them in the mobiles and tooling around urban areas, more on the
impact to the legacy network already in place. It is my guess he is going to
sell everyone he can make, and then have a waiting list on top of that.

One thing that got me really excited about this device, after looking at the
schematic, is the integration between the GPS, tracker chip and the control
of the radio. While one could consider this "yet another tracker" it has the
potential to go far far beyond that. Like you said, slotting and even dynamic
frequency control based on GeoFencing.

Whoever designed it, did their homework. It appears to implement pre-emphisis
and in the FAQ (which is gone now (updating?) it even discusses how much
better others can decode the PocketTracker.

This is what ham radio is about.

The FAQ is still there, but the link is broken. I emailed Tony to let
him know. For now, you can get it here:

Beneath the three APRSworld maps there should be a fourth, be sure the page
has finished loaded, the map is larger than the others and takes longer to
load.

Can you pull out the demographics on the trackers? Pic-E, TinyTraks,
Kenwuds, etc?

And the question that has to be asked, how many were "ON THE AIR" doing
radio as opposed to merely on the web...

Got your finals fixed Curt?

For DAYLIGHHT TIME:

>Bob, has stopped reminding all the APRSDos users what to do...

For APRSdos, change the PC local time if Windows
didnt already do it for you. Then in APRSdos,
toggle the alt-S-OTHER-DST command and then
alt-S-SAVE the new config...

Not sure if it can...but I have a 110watt Moto Spectra. I have to check
the thing out to see if it works...but may try it on a digi. Has anyone
done this? If not...I might want to trade for a tuned up, crystalled up,
commercial digi radio :-)

I have a spectra VHF A7 at work that has a TNC (KPC3+) attached to it. I
did have to run a wire inside of it to bring out constant receive level
audio so that I can turn the volume down to zero.
