OK.... First problem was that my FT1500's data jack was NOT wired as per
the pinout given in the manual... Or anyplace online... So with a little
testing I found the correct wiring.... Got that set up.

Now, I'm getting packets into my digi. Noise is being transmitted. And
it's the data in my TNC.... The data coming from the GPS.

Now the question is... Is my KPC3+ grabbing the correct data and doing what
needs to be done to it before it is getting transmitted?

(packets to follow... And my "disp" results follow that.)

Thanks,
Ken.

Are you sure you aren't mirror-imaging the MiniDin6 jack pinout? (i.e
viewing it from the wrong side of the connector -- many of the diagrams
in manuals are ambiguous whether you are viewing from the viewpoint of
the pins on a plug or the soldering end of a plug)

Both my FT-1500s have a completely standard pinout that is documented on
my website.

Would someone please give me an example when higher than WIDE2-2 should be
ever use? I can't think of any time.

I sat here monitoring only APRS 2 meters last night and was ridiculously
long paths. How about a Wide5?

Since I have no easy source for eTrex cable here in Brazil I would like to
receive the info and photos.
Thanks in advance

I can give you quite a few examples. Bayfield, WI area for one. N0BZZ-10 ->
KC0FTN-10 -> K0NDX-10 -> the Igate.

Paths are dependent on where you live. In CA, more than WIDE2-2 is probably
not needed. In other areas, WIDE3-3 or even WIDE4-4 are needed.

We see just about everything where I'm at (as I'm sure most others do too).
WIDE4-4 is about the largest that I can tolerate - anything longer is just
not needed. If we eventually get a DigiNed node up, we'll most likely limit
the paths to WIDE4-4.

Does anyone know if you can power a KPC-4 through the radio 1 port? I see
looking at the PCB that you can apply power to pin 7 of radio 2 but I don't
plan on using radio 2 at this time. I hate to just run power to pin 7 of
radio 1 because it looks like that pin is used for something...
