Thanks to all who answered on both the TinyTrak and APRSsig group. I
have a bunch of things to try, and will watch for other suggestions. The
most simple, which I just did, was check the location of my GPS antenna.
I had slid the (magmount) antenna way over to the side of the roof up
against a rail while getting ready to haul some dishes and coax up a
mountain. It never got slid back 'til just now. If it makes a big
difference, I will be pleasantly surprised.... I will also bench test
all the voltages, in, out, regulated, etc. It all worked pretty well -
for a few months. Even if I have to ditch the Oncore - it will again.

Maybe because some of the software authors don't trust it because of who
wrote it? ;-)
The chart is done by one of the contributors to the Xastir project (me!),
so there is probably a lot of inherent bias in it. It started out with a
lot of Xastir info and very little else. It gets filled in as people send
me suggestions.
Links to it from other places are certainly welcome. Perhaps over time it
can turn into an unbiased, useful tool: If I get enough feedback from
other APRS authors/advanced users of the other packages!
Maybe something like this would be a good candidate for a Wiki page? Bill?
