it will digipeat just fine but it will not digipeat unless you put your
callsign in the path. RELAY will not work.

I would suggest reading Bob's MOBILE.TXT I believe, it has been about 8
years since I have read them, also the KAM manual. Read all the
instructions on Alias and UNPROTO. Best is to do some reading on basic
packet protocal, this is just starter stuff on packet radio and any
packet text will be helpfull.

If one uses a tracker, then that doesnt prevent him from monitoring for
Voice Alert on his voice rig on long trips. Again, just tune to the nice
QUIET channel of 144.39 CTCSS 100 and drive peacefully... You wont be
pinging your presence to others, but you will hear if anyone else comes
in range of you..

Ah, yes, that leaves you out. But most rigs these days have CTCSS decode
built in... de WB4APR

Ah, that is why I made my post. I hope that subscribers share what they
learn on the SIG and pass it along to the other APRS operators in their
areas that dont have time for the SIG...

All you do is run the D7 or D700 normally. But instaed of having the
volume turned DOWN on band-A, turn it up to near full volume and SILENCE it
by setting CTCSS 100.

Thats all there is to it.

Tihs is confusing. If he is trying to set up a RELAY only digi, then he
shoulod set the MYALIAS to RELAY, not MYCALL. But if he is anywhere near
lots of APRS activity, then it is not a good idea to use an old TNC like
this, because it does not do callsign substitution and so we cannot tell
how the packet is being digipaeted. It is better to use an uptodate TNC
with the callsign substituting UIDIGI code...
