JD, thanks for the answer, even though it isn't exactly what I was looking
for. The email from Dick Stanich was more what I was wanting to know
(THANKS DICK!!!). I have set up WinAPRS as an IGATE and yet the indication
doesn't show up, sometimes for hours, even on my own screen. Kinda weird,
I guess. I also notice that sometimes it will feed data to the internet
and sometimes not. Still trying to figure that one out.

Has anyone tried to use Precision Mapping version 6.0 with WinAPRS?

I just recently got involved with APRS and the only version of Precision
Mapping that is sold right now is the version 6.0. I have loaded the CD and
it all works fine when run as stand-alone, but when I try to use it with
WinAPRS and select "New Map Prec Mapping" I get the following message:

"Precision Mapping has not been registered on this machine. Please register
it first and then it will work with WinAPRS."

I own the CD, I installed from CD and it is registered. Any suggestions or
comments?

I sent an email to the Sproul's and all they responded by saying "Precision
Mapping required me to make sure their software is registered (paid for)
before it will work with PM." I haven't gotten them to explain any further.

It is paid for. It cost me $xxxxx. How do I get it to work?? I even moved
some of the maps into the WinAPRS maps folders and that didn't work. I
can't get past this message....

I am running WinAprs V2.7.2 and on Windows XP..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: Better DOS APRS maps?
From: "Jacob Tennant" <k8jwt@adelphia.net>

Where are the better/best maps for DOS APRS? Mainly looking for maps in the
Morgantown,WV area as that is where I am located.

Reason is that I have a old 486 laptop available to me and was going to use
it for a mobile setup, and past practice with using Win95/98 in a mobile
enviroment in my beat-up old chevy truck I would rather just use a DOS based
laptop so if the power to it dies I can just restart the system without all
of the Win95/98 crap that it loads. Also machine has little ram so DOS would
be faster that WinAPRS.

Also any advise on making my own DOS APRS maps would be great as with a
cable modem file downloads are a snap.
