Has anyone used a Clarion GPS from their autopc? I found a source of these
for about $50.00 each with shipping.
The GPS has an external mag mount antenna (included) and uses a small
interface board with a 74LS07 on it.

I have found a source for these. This is a radiosonde that transmits on
about 403 MHz. The GPS is said to transmit at 1200 baud. These are from a
RS80-15G. The GPS enabled the radiosonde to measure horizontal winds.
Would this GPS have any application for us? With it being built as an
expendable, would it have any long term life?

Cleaning out old mail.
Since software can toggle the SCROLL LOCK LED ON and OFF, there is a
simple 1/0 bit to use for something. Donno what tho....

Just catching up, I concur with Bob's explanation, BP5 was first to charge
from any 13.8 source or Icom charger and to split the cells into two
'batteries' as described. One can monitor/rx with the unit on charge
however don't try to transmit. With the stock charger there's not enough
current and little filtering, even with a BP3!
Picked up a DC-1 for my 3AT and made up a 'connector' from a dead BP3 for
my 2GAT, before it was stolen, using a cap and a coil for 12/13.8 VDC. No
12 VDC connection on that rig.
Trying to trouble shoot a BP7/CM7 pack/board here.
