read the docs at

http://www.findu.com/geo.html

especially the part where it talks about where the TWO points need to be
located.

True, but we aren't then "OK" if our fundamental network assets are
incorrectly identified!

OK everyone, lets CELAN IT UP!
This is a good place to start too..

Thanks Eric for raising that point.

My point is that the network wont fix itself. When each one of us sees an
error, lets fix it...

I raised my lower reporting speed on my TT to 5 mph. With the Tripmate the
Pickup would drive around the neighborhood at night if it was set lower.
Parking location didn't give good view of Sats.

THANKS!
It works great now. If anyone wants to see it, go to:

Now to figure out a way to choose from multiple charts.

Breadcrumb is made to be embeddedd within other pages using the <IMG> HTML
tag. Just make a series of buttons to pick the different pages...or even
put them all into one page with multiple embedded breadcrumb images.

In June, Bob WB4APR, suggested that we advertise our local voice repeater
to travelers via APRS.

I've been transmitting the following for several months, but only recently
checked to see if my D700 or D7A was seeing it. It wasn't.

The packet below does cause an OBJECT of "146-895" to be displayed in
UI-View, so I'm thinking it's the radio and not a problem with the packet.
Do the Kenwoods need a special setting to make them see an "object" or is
it something else or does this not really work with the Kenwoods?

Is this the list to post technical questions about using aprs+sa?

Registered user here; kipSSpe and aprs+sa see AGWPE just fine when agwpe is
running on localhost (127.0.0.1) slow machine.

But when i try to run aprs+sa - kipSSpe on my fast machine, kipSSpe won't
get any data or send it over my network to the box running agwpe.

On the other hand, same setup as last paragraph above:
When i run UI-View and tell it to find agwpe on port 8000 on the box
running agwpe, it does so just fine.

[I need to do things this way because the box running agwpe is too slow &
not enuf memory to act as an i-gate; it gets overwhelmed with data from the
internet. The 'fast' machine has no way to key the PTT (no com1 serial
port, and no $$ to buy a SignaLink right now)].

Hope this is clear. In kipSSpe setup i tell it (top of screen) to find
agwpe on 192.168.0.19:8000, and at the bottom of the screen i've tried IP
addresses of 127.0.0.1, 192.168.0.1. Not sure what else to try.

From: "Orrin Winton" <orrin06@frontiernet.net>

Just acquired SA7 to use with both aprs+sa and ui-view. On my XP laptop it
works just fine.

On my Win98SE box, however, with same SA7 defaults and settings, the maps
in all their detail are displayed -- MINUS all the text from the map.

Every label is there, but with the text missing from it. Route numbers
have their symbols there, with no number inside the symbol. Towns, places,
and 'points of interest' are there, but with no labels.

Anyone have a fix for this? Thanks

Another aprs station pointed out to me today that i needed to check my
system date and time. I think he noticed my email (ordinary email) was
"off."

Boy was it off. My date was set to 9/11/2003 and the wrong time zone.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so i wonder if there's a virus out
there doing this.

I have the same behavior on mine. It appears to transmit something, but I
don't have a scope to watch it with to see what it is sending. It will
receive in kiss mode fine.

Henk has reported that his THD7(E) does transmit and receive in kiss mode.
