Hi Bob and all,
Thanks for the typo, you unintentionally hit the nail on the head (when
you usually hit your head with a nail). All kidding aside, Foxyell is
typical American broadcasting with heavy compression on the commercial's
audio raising the modulation density considerably thereby pounding it
into your head quite literally. You think that's bad? You Brits and ex
pats say "never the same color (twice) while you haven't heard our CATV
services, never the same volume! Not only does it vary considerably when
the commercials are on but within program content as well (quite
unexpectedly) and from channel to channel too. Gerald McBoingboing runs
the controls!
OK, once again you're clueless so here it is. It was a cartoon show back
in the 60s thereabouts with a kid having a super voice and an atomic
BOING that could level London. Then I grew up and there was Sonic Rooster
with a song called Sonic Attack that started so low you'd crank the
volume to hear anything and suddenly your speakers erupted and you
learned the true meaning of what the small voice said describing a sonic
attack. Yup, now you get the picture but keep your finger on the sound
button.
