I got the Ensoniq about a month ago at Office Depot
for $30.00 - it works great.

Subject: [psk31] Rigblaster question
Hello: I figured out my settings on the FT 101ZD. I did not have the
manual, so I fooled around until I got it. The Rigblaster website did not
have this information, but it would be nice if there was a place where all
this stuff was.
Anyway, my question is: I got the rigblaster working fine via the serial
port on my computer. I did not run my output through the righblaster,
however. I just kept it going into the patch in plug on my Yaesu. It seems
that this would be fine and using the riglaster to get the sound into the rig
would not be better if you have a "patch in" plug, which most Yaesu's have.
What do you guys think: Is there any value to using the rigblaster to put a
signal into your rig (through the mic plug), if you have a patch in plug that
works fine? I know that the rig blaster does have an audio in adjustment
that could be used, and that would be one advantage I imagine.
Just another question: Using the serial port hookup, I press transmit and
the rig transmits. Then I push receive and the little r in a circle symbol
comes up and the rig stops transmitting. There is a second or two delay from
the end of the transmission until it switches over to receive. Can that
delay be adjusted one way or the other? And, is the setup capable of simply
switching over to receive once the transmission of data stops? In other
words, if I call CQ CQ de N8TI K and don't have any little R in a circle
after it, can you get the rig to stop transmitting like if you were using vox
and had a delay? I'm not saying that you would want to do this, as you may
want to type along and then when finished hit the receive button with the
mouse or function key and then wait until it completes the transmission. ...
Maybe I answered my own question... You would probably not want to stop
transmitting automatically until you manually inserted the little r in a
circle symbol. (I like this list, it answers questions before you get to
send them out! )
Hope to hear you all on the air on field day. 73, Joe N8TI

Probably not - if it's working okay directly. The RigBlaster provides
transformer isolation but if you have no hum or RFI problems with your
existing setup then you don't need the isolation. Just remember that
computer tones may go out through the transmitter via the patch in
connection even though you are using the mike for SSB. I believe the
RigBlaster would remove this possibility by disconnecting the computer
audio out when the mike is keyed.
With DigiPan, when you press the receive button, a special character
is placed into the transmit buffer. The transmitter stays keyed until
all the characters in the buffer have been transmitted and you reach
the special character. At that point, the transmit to receive process
begins. PSK transmits a 1 second single tone at the end of a
transmission in order to lock the squelch on the receiving end. This
causes a 1 sec delay in the Tx to Rx changeover. You cannot change
this delay.

"Creative Ensoniq AudioPCI" no model number (the
Ensoniq is the model). I am running it on an old
gateway Pentium 100 machine with 24MB RAM.
