conservation. We set limits all the time, and for good reason: our
resource--spectrum space--is finite.
A 20 kw station would be more effective than a 100 watt one, but we allow
the latter and not the former. We don't allow wideband FM on HF. One
general governing principle in the amateur bands, justified sometimes by
law and sometimes by custom, is that the lower end of a band is for modes
that take up less than about 500 Hz, and the higher end of a band is for
modes that take up more than that. It makes sense, just as it makes sense
to keep dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles off of hiking trails.
So, this Peter's opinion is somewhere in between Peter's opinion and
Peter's opinion :-) Technically, MT63 is very interesting. I'm not
getting out my garlic, wooden stake and mallet just yet. But, I'm not
optimistic about whether MT63 can exist in the same frequency space as CW,
PSK31 and RTTY. If three or four MT63 signals can wipe twenty or thirty
PSK signals off the band, some segregation is in order. Some MT63
enthusiasts have recognized this already, and voluntarily stay above 14.100.

Well Thanks to all the great help and tips from everyone, I'm finally TX
on PSK31!!!
I found a couple of things:
Instead of going from the sound card's line out I came from the speaker
jack and I was able to hear the tones. Apperantly this Sound blaster
16's line out is not activated...I did not see any jumpers on the card
to activate the line out and I could find nothing in the software
settings.
Also my mic connection had a bad solder joint!!! Oh well live a learn!
I'm on using the DIGIPAN program and doing ok....I have to get the mic
and ALC setting tweaked a bit..
The rest of the sound card settings seem to be ok.
My first contact was with Jim KD1I...Tnx Jim if you are out there!!
