Subject: [psk31] Spammers using messages from this list.

A few days I posted a question about the existence of a PSK Net. I received
several replies regarding this just fine. Tonight, I received a message
with the same subject included was an executable "hidcam.exe" which of
course I did not run. Included in the message was a link to
"www.elephantlist.com" which is apparently an adult site.

What methods are in place to ensure that my email address does not get into
the hands of spammers? The message tonight came from psi.net. This is the
first time that I have had this happen to me in 8 years of working on the
Internet. I hope that we can prevent this type of scavenging in the
future. It would be a shame to lose such a great forum to discuss a new
technology.

73s,
   Bryan Koen

I have been receiving a barrage of spam from psi.net lately. I've been
reporting all to spamcop immediately. I tend to receive 5-10 spams a
day over the last 4 months or so.

Subject: [psk31] Having a heck of a time....REWORKED

Thanks to all those that sent me email about keying my Yaesu FT840
automatically with the
PSK31 programs out there.. I had originally keyed it with the serial port
to a separate 12V relay, that in turn keyed my rig's PTT switch. On advice
of many of you, I did not want to blow my serial port...so I worked another
circuit that I found on http://www.qsl.net/wm2u/psk31.html

There is an optical PTT circuit that is pretty neat and easy to build with
only 5 parts..
It keys your rig's accessory PTT. The reference picture is the 3rd
schematic down. I would include it here for everyone..but its a waste of
space. If you cant get to the site, email me and I will send you an
attachment. The only difference in the schematic that I can tell is that
on the serial DB9 cable... Pin #5 is Ground (yellow) and
Pin#4 is the +12Volt line (orange). You can also use Pin#7 as it also
showed 12V.
Pin #7 was Blue. I used pin 4 and 5. (I had to strip the cable end). It
keys the rig no problem and is isolated from the serial port voltages. With
this Rig, I found that this schematic works best, is easiest to build and
ok.........its the only switching unit that I could get to work ! Thank
you to all the digital buffs out there that helped me make it work. Best
Regards. Greg kb2qqm

Boy there are some NASTY signals on 20M tonight. I was able to get a GOOD
PSK print out on several stations harmonic image, i.e. clicking on the
harmonic image in DigiPan!
