Eduardo has been misunderstood. I fully support what he was trying to
say, and there really is no reason for people to get upset about it.
All he was trying to say was that we should think, before we send ANY
message to the reflector, if it's appropriate to do so. A message
like "I am listening on such-and-such frequency for the next X
hours", is probably not going to be read by most people on the
reflector until the following day, and if such-and-such frequency is
on the LF bands, then it isn't going to be very useful except to
stations in a local area around the originator of the message, and
the message is going to be even less useful if the area in question
is not even stated!
Similarly, replies to such messages, and indeed most replies to
messages on the reflector, should go to the originator ONLY, unless
they really are likely to be of interest to the rest of us. A reply
that forms part of an ongoing debate is fair game, but not a reply
setting up a one-to-one sked unless it was something really unusual
that the rest of us would be interested in, like a 160 moonbounce sked!
Keep up the good work Eduardo, and lets have the reflector reflecting
the common interests.
