I like this concept. I wonder how universally it might be accepted? I know
one of the reasons people are reluctant to QSL is due to the cost of
postage. Also when dealing with international contacts, the huge wait times
for returns.
With so many hams now using computers, and the high percentage of which are
e-mail equipped, why not a system where a "legally acceptable QSL" created
by, or at least personalized by the operator, sent out following valid
contacts? If they are attractive and/or interesting enough, they can be
printed after receipt.
Such an exchange of agreement to QSL via this method could be established
during the QSO. If either operator has no e-mail capability, there's still
the old fashioned way. This way, everyone's covered.
Guess the only question is, how to make them "legally" acceptable to awards
issuing bodies. Or is that even a problem?
Is it time to move more into the computer age?

Subject: [psk31] Sound Care Variations?
I have been monitoring the Reflector for several weeks. One of the
questions that I have is regardings sound cards. I have read that the
suggested card is the Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16. That is nice, but
have anyone ever tried to locate a standard Creative Labs Sound Blaster
16? I have seen dozens of sound cards advertised. There are a number
of Sound Blaster variants. There are also PCI cards, 3D cards, A3D
interfaces, Wavetables, etc.
All this information can create confusion in a computer and psk31 novice
like me! Can anyone shed some light on this subject?
