I think there was a post earlier, looking for the 9pin to DIN cable for the
Yaesu FT1500M. Wondering if that person found it, or if anyone knows if
someone makes it. Alternate query would be what is the correct technique for
attaching the wires to the mini DIN connector. Soldering was not only tough,
it didn't work! I think I melted the connecotor and misaligned the pins
(with a 25 watt pencil!). My thought was that probably have to use crimps
similar to what was used on phono cartridge pins. Is that the correct
technique. Thanks Dave K0XH

"Wondering ... if anyone knows if someone makes [a cable]"
This is amateur radio. Why can't someone who has a license make their own
cable? Any cable that has 10 or less wires should be simple enough that even
a
monkey can do it.
As far as trying but melting the connectors, that's a different issue. At
least, the person is trying. Try using less solder and don't heat the
junctions as long. That gets easier with skill. Practice attaching wires to
nails first (or something similar).
