If you look at the port in the AGPWE Properties dialogue (right click on
the AGWPE icon on the task bar, then select Properties), is it marked
"Idle"? If it is, then you've got something wrong with its set-up. The
common error is to assign it a serial port that is in use by another
device.
The common error with the sound card set-up is not to enable line-in on
the volume control Recording properties, but that only affects its
ability to receive.
