As a test, I've set up the following system:-
K6-2/450, 64Mb, Win98 SE, onboard "SB16 compatible" sound (the drivers
are by C-Media), AGWPE V2000.60. It took less than five minutes to get
it going, including installing AGWPE and setting up the port. (Of
course, I didn't make any of the common mistakes, such as setting the
baud rate to 9k6, or not enabling line in on the volume control
recording properties!)
It's running UI-View32. I started it at 1600 GMT today, and I'll leave
it going until it either falls over or I need the PC for something else.

I whole heartedly agree. It could be my system. It may even be
something I'll set incorrectly. I would be tickled pink if it
were. Then I'd have AGW working too. As it stands, I've check
every setting and read all I can and I works slower and bombs my
computer whereas Flex is not.
Keep in mind I REALLY wanted AGW to work because it's much
easier to set up.
So I appeal to the masses! How many of you have AGWPE (on
SOUNDCARD packet) RELIABLY working in a long term test?
WHAT APPS ARE AVAILABLE AND RELIABLE WITH AGWPE/SOUNDCARD?
What about FlexNet/SOUNDCARD?

You still haven't said what hardware you're using...

Any app that works with AGWPE works with AGWPE and a sound card
(assuming you get the sound card to work at all).
BUT - I'm only doing this to prove that it works, and because I know
that most of the problems I have seen reported with AGWPE and a sound
card have been user problems. (I'm not saying that applies in your
case.) By choice I wouldn't use it. The ability to decode frames is not
as good as with a TNC or a Baycom modem (that applies to both AGWPE and
Flexnet), and I'd rather use my sound card for other purposes.

Here flexnet works just fine under win98.
But I know that soem l1 drivers doesn't.
