Subject: Kantronics KPC3 help

The three CTRL C's should work but you must use the baud rate that you set
in the TNC. Most HAMs set the baud rate between the KPC-3 and GPS receiver
to 4800 bps.

But if you are just playing around, you may be using a different baud rate
like 9600 baud.

You might also try using a terminal BREAK signal.

If you have set your terminal to the right baud rate, then sending three
CTRL C's one second apart will work just fine. If you send the CTRL-C's to
fast or too slow, it will not work.

If my memory serves me right, KANTRONICS also sells just the KPC-3 PLUS
manual for $35. (I don't think it sell manuals for the KPC-3 anymore).

I was thinking of upgrading my old KPC-3 for GPS. (My KAM has the GPS
software that is how I know how the KANTRONICS GPS mode works). The
firmware upgrade was $60 US. In addition, KANTRONICS recommended that I buy
the manual for the KPC 3 PLUS which will describe all the new commands. For
$60 US, I thought I would have received supplements or an updated manual! I
am still thinking about it.
