Big deal, who cares anyway. Daja News has it on their system and Daja News
is listed by Usenet as one of several sites with a listing of news groups.

Well, the OO is correct. 47 CFR 97.305(c) specifically lists 7.1-7.15MHz as
"RTTY & Data" with a footnote - and that footnote, in 47 CFR 97.307(f)(9),
does
specifically state that Novices and Technicians (w/HF privileges) may ONLY
transmit a CW emission. (Same for 80m and 15m.) They should spell it out
better.

[Also, what is "rec.radio.amateur.packet"? It's not on the list of authorized
"rec.radio" groups from the USENET master site for that hierarchy?
"rec.radio.amateur.digital.misc" IS a proper group.]

You missed the point. It's not an authorized newsgroup in the hierarchy.

Subject: Want: MFJ 1270 docs/firmware.

Wanted: Documentation on MFJ 1270 (no suffix)
TNC. Already checked the MFJ web site, but only
found the 1270C.

Also wanted - the "stock" or original firmware that
came with the TNC. Or maybe your broken MFJ
model 1270 TNC?

Any help would be appreciated.
