Subject: Mfj-1278B Problem
Hello Everyone, I just bought a new MfJ-1278B multi mode data controller a
couple of days ago. I havent been able to get the MFJ to connect to my
computer through the serial port. All my settings are just like MFJ says
they need to be. I have tried to connect with win98 hyper terminal with no
luck , I have also tried dos program paket6 to connect with no luck. My
instructions say if when i turn the tnc on and i get an asterick or some
little garbage type figure on my screen , it is because my serial port
parameters are not correct and for me to press the return key several times
and the tnc 's autobaud function will kick in and make things work, but it
doesn't . I bought a new serial cable to try, that didn't help. I was
wondering if anyone else might have had a problem similar to this
and might offer some advice. I have spent so much time re configuring
everything I now believe I bought a faulty unit. Thanks for reading this post.
