Subject: Highspeed wireless transparent TCP/IP network

Hi, Im still a novice at this but could anyone tell me if its possible
to add-to or change a standard 10 or 100Mbps ethernet card
in order to set up a transparent wireless TCP/IP network
spanning 300 - 500 meters.

My goal is to connect two small Win98 networks located
in two different buildings, as transparent as possible, with
a transfer rate as high as possible, to achieve the same
funtionality as I would have with a wired network.

Since ethernet cards and hubs became really cheap and are fully
integrated into the commonday PC the obvious (well, for me it is)
question came to mind.
After all, they use a modulated signal too to transmit their data over
wired network.
This all could sound a bit naive but thats the right of a radio novice
with a bit of electronics experience :)~

So.. any info on this?
Maybe there are some working systems already. Would be wonderfull
if I could just plug a black-box in my hub and start networking....

Thanx!

around? Is a newer firmware set around?
