CALLSIGN GB617SQN FROM RAF SCAMPTON

The RAFARS Roadshow team are mounting 2 events as a 60th anniversary
memorial to all who took part in or were affected by No 617 (Dambuster)
Squadron operations from its formation in March 1943 to the Ruhr Dams raid
overnight 16 / 17 May 1943.

Special Amateur Radio demonstrations will be provided to serving
RAF personnel.

21 to 24 March 2003 to mark the Sqn's formation. Fully manned

15 to 17 May 2003 to mark the raid. Operator places available, contact
                                        Roy M0CBN soonest .

We have to achieve a high standard to keep up with RAF Finningley ARC
effort when they first used this callsign to mark the 50th anniversary,
from the Howden Dam in the Derwent Valley where the Sqn practised their
techniques.

Sorry about the late notice for the first of these events, this was beyond
our control. Sadly, circumstances forced us to reduce from our plan to
attend, within that same 2 months, every Station at which the Sqn has
been based.

We anticipate remaining unsure of being allowed to start operating right
down to the time of actually doing so. 73 Bob G0DAM RAFARS ROADSHOW TEAM.
