RAFARS CHAIRMAN
At the November Council meeting, RAFARS 3968 Sqn Ldr Gary Wann G0DNI was
elected as the new Chairman of RAFARS. As reported last month, Dave Crump
G8GKQ has been posted overseas in the new year. We wish Dave well in his
new job and extend a warm welcome to Gary.
DATES OF 2007 RAFARS COUNCIL MEETING AT DCAE COSFORD.
20 Feb., 24 Apr., 26 Jun., 11 Sep., 13 Oct.(AGM), 13 Nov.
A Field Rep will be invited to each meeting and travel expenses paid.
All members may ask to attend meetings but expenses are not paid.
INCORRECTLY ADDRESSED E-MAILS TO RAFARS POSTHOLDERS
Regrettably, incorrectly addressed e-mails, eg <administrater@rafars.org>
will not now be received. The default mailbox to which "unknown" addresses
are consigned receives 200+ SPAM e-mails EVERY DAY. Council has decided
that, for cost/time reasons, this default box will be emptied unchecked.
In the past four months only three genuine e-mails out of about 20,000
would have been lost.

Council has decided that the use of G8FC by Stan G0BYA and Don M0FHM will
be put on hold until the new regulations from Ofcom have been issued and
their effects discussed by RAFARS Council.

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
On Sat 11th Nov 36 Stations contacted. At 1100hrs the Station went QRT for
the 2 minutes Silence for Remembrance.
Conditions good on 3.710. I had a 15mins QSO with W1BFA Ernest in Maine on
14.279 and another with G3RAF/G4PFR Jim and ON6WR Roger. At 1414, as part
of their Foundation License Course, we worked 4 trainee operators at the
Finningley ARS (G0GHK).
GB2RAF should be QRV every 2nd Saturday of the Month 1000-1500 hrs local
on SSB or CW on 80m or 40m if conditions are poor. For full information
