MISSING MEMBERS
Since the Autumn QRV was posted out, more than usual have been returned by
the Royal Mail. Mike, the Administrator, has turned detective and managed
to located new addresses for some but would like your help in getting the

NEWS FLASH RAFARS DINNER & AGM FRIDAY 8TH & SATURDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2004
If you intend coming to the Annual Dinner please remember that your menu
choices and cheque must be sent to HQ by Friday 17th September. Items for
AOB on the AGM AGENDA must reach HQ by Friday 10th September.Full details
were enclosed in the Autumn QRV.
Have your 2m rig in the car or a hand held QAP/Chat on 144.725 FM.
Remember to wear your Callsign badge and carry your RAFARS Membership Card
when you attend the AGM.

John G3OQC 3896 requires information on T/R Ultra D403M from a Phantom,
TR1934 from a RN Venom and a Test Set Type 15077 used on a Harrier ARC 52.
John would be very grateful if you can help him, particularly with circuit
diagrams and details of remote control boxes and interconnection plug

RSGB SSB FIELD DAY 4/5 SEPTEMBER 2004
The RAFARS team, G8FC, will operate from the Metheringham Visitors Centre.
The site is approx 10 miles SE of Lincoln, 8 miles NE of RAFC Cranwell and
the O/S is TF1014 5961.Talk-in is 144.725.
It is still not to late to attend, just turn up and report to Roger G3ZDW.
There are other tasks if you do not wish to operate G8FC.
RESULTS OF THE AFS SSB CONTEST 2004.
Out of 86 clubs, RAFARS Waddington A came 34th, Devon 54th, Cosford 69th,
Waddington B 73rd. Well Done to all RAFARS Members who took part.
GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
GB2RAF will be QRV 11 Sept on SSB or CW around RAFARS Freq.
The Station is operational on the second Saturday of every month from 1000
-1500 local time.
All RAFARS/RNARS/R.Sigs who would like to operate or visit the station are
welcome. Phone Terry, G4PSH, on 01692 582064 if you wish to operate.
(Operators please bring your Amateur Licence and I/D).
Conditions were very poor on all bands on Aug 14th only 15 stations worked
on 40m QRN/QSB was bad, but we did have a QSO with W1BFA on 14.278 SSB.

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION SHUTTLE.
Latest information is that the next flight to the ISS by NASA will be not
earlier than March 2005, this will be the seventeenth visit to the ISS. At
present the Russian space craft Soyuz is serving the ISS with crew changes
and supplies. If any Member wishes to have passover sightings of the ISS,
please contact News Desk for details.
