NEWS FLASH    RAFARS AGM SATURDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2004
You can still attend the AGM next Saturday 9th Oct. at 1330hrs.

Have your 2m rig in the car or a hand held QAP/Chat on 144.725 FM.
If you do decide that you can make it, do remember to carry your RAFARS 
Membership Card and wear your Callsign badge.

RESULTS ROLLING 3 CW RAFARS CONTEST 2004.
1 G2AFV 2 G3JKY 3 G0RAF 4 ON6WR 5 G3SET 6 G4OSB 7 GD0IFU 8 G4ZME.
The top three only separated by 3 points, a full report will appear in the
Spring QRV. Well done all for taking part.

DEBRIEF RSGB SSB FIELD DAY 2004 CONTEST.
The location at Metheringham Visitors Centre near Lincoln was superb with
all the equipment working without any faults. The antenna was a homebrew
doublet with a PicATUNE by Dave G3SET.
G8FC/P claimed 166,964 points from 439 QSOs with 89 Multi.This score to be
confirmed by the RSGB around Spring 2005.
Thanks go out to all involved - G3ZDW G3SET G0NWY G0BDX G0TQJ and to M0TWA
who did a spot of logging - for their effort and support of  RAFARS G8FC/P
in this contest. Well done!

RAFARS TEMPORARY MARKETING MANAGER ONLY UNTIL OCTOBER 2004.
Dorrie, the wife of G0DAM, is handling mail orders and Rally commodities
on a temporary basis only until the end of OCTOBER 2004.
Volunteers for the post of Marketing Manager should initially contact Mike
the Administrator at RAFARS HQ.

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
GB2RAF will NOT be QRV 9 Oct (RAFARS AGM) but we agreed to a request from
the Museum Manager to provide the SES on 16 Oct for the Annual Meeting of
Friends of the Museum (approx 200).
On Sept 11th 77 QSO established conditions quite good with G6PAA Jim 
operating with a helping hand from his xyl - it was good to see you both.
Normally the Station is operational on the Second Saturday of every month
from 1000-1500 local time. 
All RAFARS/RNARS/R.Sigs who would like to operate or visit the station are
welcome. Phone Terry, G4PSH, on 01692 582064 if you wish to operate.
(Operators please bring your Amateur Licence and I/D).

AIR TRAINING CORPS RADIO.
A Foundation Course for ATC Adult and Cadets of Cumbria and North Lancs
Wing took place on the 18/19 Sept. It was organised by Roy 2E1RAF and 
Thorton Cleveleys ARS.
The most senior person attending the course was the OC Wing, Wg Cdr D.R.
Anthony RAF VR (T). He and the other fourteen candidates all passed the
examination. Congratulations to all concerned.

ATC HF Field Day (not RAFARS) will be held on the 17 Oct
