Hi Bob and all,
I'm having a tough time keeping this in line with fuel so coal is as good
as any I suppose. Uh, I doubt they're building any new narrow gage
railways since they're being phased out. If anything they MAY be dual for
the time being but eventually they'll all be standard. Like here the only
NG lines remaining are for tourists only and so will yours be when all is
said and done. That reminds me, I'm wondering what they did with the
Baldwin NG steamer at Allare State Park a jog to the north of me, all
I've seen for the last couple of years are two USATC Diesel shunters.
Well that's the mil surplus market for you, there's more to it than man
pack radios you can use on the ham bands.
I don't know how recently "now" came about but I have my doubts all the
metro lines are electric. Maybe in WA but NSW just got a new Xplorer
train set and it's a state of the art two power unit Diesel. That seems
to be the trend regardless of motive power, the old MUs are being phased
out and there are still a few standard locomotives hanging around for the
long haul. Don't hold me to that, my arm isn't quite long enough to get
an accurate reading on Australia's pulse.
Well good for you, when the bloke doesn't keep his promise boot him out
of office! I wish we didn't have to wait so long and the damage keeps
piling up until the next guy has such a mess to deal with and the people
get stuck with some unpleasant business. We have that now in NJ but we
just have to deal with it, tighten the belt from both ends now since
we're stuck between Wil Rodger's proverbial rock and a hard place,
Washington and Trenton respectively. Meanwhile New Jersey Transit is
hanging on... barely. Thankfully we haven't had a fare increase but next
year that just may happen like it did in New York. Oh well, when Diesel
gets too expensive they'll just have to build a horse barn down in
Bayhead. To that I say NAAAAAAAAY, there should be some old PRR K-4
steamers around SOMEPLACE!
If worse comes to worst I'll just have to kick my frog breeding program
in high gear and get them little weight sets to get them in top physical
shape. To every question there is an answer even if it sounds like <bork>.
