Re the larger cars and fuel costs, the latter has no impact these
days for fully employed aussies. I mean those who are upper level
office workers and self employed businessmen working in capital
cities..
My son employs several in a small firm and if they can't earn
$100,000 a year, he says there is something wrong with them. That is
not to put down the other maybe 60% who have an average wage of $30 to
$50,000. Even teachers start now on $40,000.
So for those owning their own homes petrol costs are chicken feed,
Businesses can also claim taxation deductions for running vehicles.
Of course all of the above is not shared by the out of work,
pensioners and those living in country areas where part time work only
is all the go.
However fuel companies appear heartless, together with nearly half
the fuel cost, being claimed as excise tax by the Government, getting
more and more tax as fuel prices escalate.
Unfortunately this is also happening with super market food prices.
Suffer the poor!
