Hello Warren .... And all reading along about cars.
I read as it comes to mind right now, that he mentions the Holden
yet to this date...I have never seen one, and if he is right about
them being sold here, then I don't know which is a Holden or a GM
as I believe Bob mentioned Holden exports to here and the vehicle
is sold under the GM banner... but what?
OK...onto the reason for the posting ....
As you know when we exchange packets on cars and VWs I always
remember the 1960-1970s era of cars...faster the better...and
the absolute luck I had to drive in a safe area, the best
muscle cars that came out of Detroit.
I also , I think chatted on VWs and the super-muscle VW BUG
that was driven around Toronto in the 1960s ... A VW powered
by a GM Rocket 454CID V8 engine .... It wasn't from Scarberia
east of Toronto..but Mississauga in the westend...Chevy and
Ford country ... and it always showed up on a weekend at
the local Chew n Choke burger joint ... Driver sat in the
back seat..and oh yes roller bars out the back, for obvious
reasons ....
BUT!!!! When I got that picture of the VW recently, showing
a VW Beetle with a JET engine coming out the back window area
...now that was the replacement for the 454 V8.
NO Roller Bars!!! Is it a working model? Don't know.
Perhaps Show? have no idea... Better still...where
does the suicide jockey sit? Makes me now want to go
to a few drags to see if this VW super Blast is for real?
Anyhow...I have the pictures...and if anyone want to see
them such as Klaus in Germany...he can email me.
