You are right Bob,
There have been few accidents, mostly taxis as taxis are
the biggest user of LPG. You can tell them by the little red diamond on
their rear number plate.
It is on the rear one so those attending the accident can check before they
open the boot.
Do not let your complancey lull you into a false sense of security
anywahere around gas tanks.
The regulations are very strict on the design and installation of the tanks
be it it in cars or anywhere.
Dave, yes not many people have woken up about peak oil, mainly because the
media does not really want to talk about it.
CNN manage to do a 30 min doco without using those words.
The politicians definately do not want to talk about it as the public will
want them to do something about it.
The reason of course is because they don't know what to do about it.
The immeadiate solution is to give more time by bringing in petrol rationing.
The public would crucify them as it is not understood by the public at large.
Chicken & egg isn't it ?
Perhaps we should define peak oil.
Peak oil does not mean we are running out of oil like a car running out of
petrol.
Peak oil means it is getting harder to pump out, harder to find new fields,
the sweet fine crude is becoming a smaller proportion of the total.
It is slower and more costly to refine the heavier crude.
Peak oil means that with new oil fields coming on line they are only just
keeping up with the depletion of old fields. In fact it is now looking like
they are not quite keeping up.
Oil production has plateued. It has been near flat for three years next May.
DEmand has slightly reduced its rate of increase, Price ?
There is a long pipe from the oil fields to your tank.
World stocks are slowly falling, particualy in the US.
Latest Australian depletion figure 47% depleted.
