If KIA was owned by IKEA...oh what a throught....I hated the
Ikea. Just got rid of a bedroom full of it.
I was thinking of that movie about a US carmaker...and his
back seats were like couches....You stepped in and seemingly
down to sit into the really nice back seats.
BBQ's ... still like the South American BBQ, and the method
to cook. I tired to get someone up here to build one, but
he kept insisting on his plans, and not the ones given me
by the designer who built the BBQ at USP in Sao Paulo.
Aah yes the Hillbillies....and that truck. What a luagh
that show was.... we used to watch it ...I have seen it
on some retro channel somewhere...oh well good memorys
of cars..Studebakers and Avantis ... As for the
Holden Monaro .... Never seen one yet...even toured the
GM Pontiac dealership...but nothing yet. Perhaps it
has not been released here?
In those days, as you describe, the car was hand tooled and
almost customed. I enjoy them today, when they comeout
of they're places for a tour.

Russell gets some kibble and a quality dog food, and also
enjoys some scrapes that he can eat, as you know, dogs
can not eat certain types of human food, and that also
goes the other way too for us....eeeeesh.
I know your fondness for Russell after I sent you the
picture and the email. The name wasn't mine to pick.
I think he was one lucky dog to be saved by the Society
for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and get
immediate medical help. What he missed out on was
an enjoyable puppy time. What he lives with now
is bad memorys of his bad times, which one by one are
getting behind him.

Yes...Maria was very concerned with my health, and she
felt she had abandoned me, but no matter what I said, it
wasn't enough, so she cut short the trip and returned
just before spring...and she missed the really bad wx
and the cold. No matter how much I cleaned up
she still declared the home a disaster area, and we
were both put in our places.
I miss Sky King, and Sargeant Preston, and also \
Cannon Ball. Oh well... even if they were in B&W
they were good, and told a better story then today.
In Toronto, it used to be sand only, then they went
to salt and well it looked and smelled different from
salt as I knew it. On our roads here it is still
sand...further south a mix... driving down the highway
is ok..until just before you enter the city....the
blowing snow or spray turns to wet slush snow then
someother mix, and it is really bad. <They also
have these melting machines for city streets...the
drains bloack when the water runoff freezes...so
advantage.>
As for undercoating, well that might be a great tar
but pure murder for the men in the dealership pits
having to apply it to new cars or used cars.
It sticks to their skin, and is very hard to washoff
at the end of the day.
Ace of Spades is worse then the undercoat. It can not
be applied by spray. Too dense and would mess up the
machine. It is a total paint by brush product and
I only used it once. Lasted better then undercoat
on my test parts, but what a time period needed.
when old and need of replacement, it forms bloches
but they can be painted over. Did a lot under the
1978 Aspen...and the truck...but for some things
I really needed it to spray, and it just would not
be sprayed. The maunfacturer then told me it was
a brush only.... oh well.
Your TOY struts remind me of the torrsion bars in
the front of my Plymouth Samp. When they went
that was that...the whole area they attach to is
designed to rust and they go right after, despite
my welding attempts, and undercoating etc.

Never had a problem with the seats. I liked them
but then the driver's seat is usually the better one.
aaah the gas heater....must remember the melting of
rubber running shoes as an advantage too !
I remember in Indiana my Uncle showing me a pan for
the heavy blankets for everyone in the car. The
pan held hot coals from the fireplace. Reminded me
of the pioneer days.

In Portuguese they dragout the A and it sounds like Erra.
The Paulo is not made by FORD. I have no idea who
makes it, but I will look into it. Oh geesh, I hope
I never get stuck with that gem. You will never believe
my feeling on the hill, gearing down to go up it, and
the speed on the Paulo dropped to the point, where I
could have got out and walked faster ... not a fun
thing with the roads and drivers down there, but they
were good to us, and we did arrive at our destination.
Like you I am not too car crazy anymore. I drive until
the day I can not. Easy as that. There are many places
I would love to have memorys of... it is too bad that
Edison's lab is now just a stone tower with a burned out
light bulb. Of course it might say something about
today's decsion to do away with his light bulbs.

Always mumble that one when I see them struggling with
their tanks.
ADS: Stay away from them. Hear enough BS from the sales
people, and I just cruise about looking, and forming a
list, then reading and listening, to people who are
either stuck with a lemon, or a gem.
I have been lucky with my wheels so far .... takes time
before I take the plunge to buy. I even read the
contract and all the BS on them, especially the extra
charges that kill the so-called generous discount.
