How's that for a "mechanic's special"? (;->) Last thinks first, Bob and I
out at the pond aren't fishing, we're froggin'. Here comes a heron eying

Now wouldn't it be a hoot if Kia turned out to be Swedish and Ikea opened
a dealership? Hey, it would do wonders for the seating, imagine a couch
in the back and love seats up front. Not a bad idea with her seated
backward, hubby wouldn't have to put up with all that "watch out for"
stuff. The trunk lined with cedar like a chest so mummy (sic) in law
comes out smelling nice at least. Now that's an idea Ford would never
come up with, he teamed up with Kingsford and the roadside BBQ was born
but the days of innovation are gone, even granny lost her perch on her
rocker atop the Model A touring car. "And they moved to Beverly. Hills
that is. Movie stars. Swimming pools. Granny's incessant yapping."
Hey, you just KNEW I couldn't resist picking on Rusty and I know why he's
that particular color too. Dogs like flamingoes are what they eat, so
what else can you expect from a junkyard dog? Kinda reminds you of Blondy
and that song about the Martian now doesn't it? I guess after eating bars
he was so drunk he went out eating cars, so what have you been feeding
that dog anyway? Thank goodness Mistress Maria came home and restored
order, there for a while I thought you were about to change his name to
King. That would have been quite a mess, sort of a cross between Sky King
and Sargeant Preston of the Ontario.
I'm not sure what's in that "new mix" but it's probably based on calcium
chloride like I said, then I'll bet the whole thing is mixed with sand. I
know how corrosive calcium salts can be, after all calcium is far more
reactive than sodium AND you should have seen the mess in the fire
extinguisher factory when we ran off an order for Super K. That crap
corroded the hell out of the filling machine and we had to stop
frequently to clean, fix and readjust it, production slowed to a crawl
and not only the boss was furious, when I operated it I was seriously
looking for some kind of explosive. Undercoating only protects the body,
says nothing for the suspension and power train. I was about to say
"undercarriage" but then remembered it's all been unibody construction
for decades. The last straw for my little red Toy were the rear strut
mounts that tore free of the well tops and left the struts mounts and all
sticking into the rear hatch, rear brakes locked and the wheels cocked at
an odd camber.
I remember a 120 mile trip in a VW 1500 Fastback that left me nearly
unable to walk for quite a while. Those seats (insert expletive) had to
be the worst ever. The car was great otherwise but I won't comment on the
Germans' uh, what they sit on. Yup, hot air off the engine really isn't
the safest way to go but it's far less expensive and then there are the
electrical requirements of an under dash heater to consider, probably
would have robbed too much power from the engine. Ford had one very early
on but I doubt many people remember that acessory. That's right, no heat
in those early cars.
I rather got a chucle out of the Ka, sounds like Portuglish. Now what
better name than Paulo for a sainted Ford? (;->) Ah, that's to be
expected from Dee Troit, but then Ford is actually in Dear Born, make of
that what you will. That reminds me, if you're ever out that way make
sure you visit Dearborn Village and the Henry Ford Museum, the place is a
must see. Naturally I spent more time in Edison's lab than my parents
liked, all that's left in Menlo Park is a stone tower monument with a
*** TELNET DISCONNECTED from
OH CRAP!
light bulb on top that's burnt out for years.
Thank goodness for a bit of copy and paste ingenuity, Winpack has a
certain saving grace I just happened to think of.
Well, of course if you can't drive don't buy it, I think you left an "it"
out but I get the general idea. (;->) It's like what the Roller dealer
says, if you must ask the price you can't afford to buy it. These days
there's a lot more to consider than the initial price! Another laugh I
get is the ads that say "best rated in initial quality" which immediately
raises a red flag, likely it falls apart in short order. I'm not a
follower of cars especially now that I no longer drive so I can't give
any kind of assessment on what's on the roads, only the TV ads that I
catch a few seconds of as I reach for the remote. If those seconds are
any indication Kia seems to be holding it's own, still the SUVs
predominate. Wait until the soccer moms are forced to tow the kids in a
wagon behind a scooter like they do in Maylasia and the Far East, not to
mention India.
OK, enough for now, I have a few more frogs to deal with.
