Hi Ian and all,

Somehow this turned into a private conversation, I guess nobody has
something to add..........

Racing cars with dynamic braking and computers? Leave it to the Germans
but frankly I don't keep up with the racing circuit. When racing in
particular the power to weight ratio is all important so this one leaves
me in the dust.

Makes sense they invented a car with an internal combustion engine,
Daimler and Benz ended up together and then Benz named a car after his
wife (?) and the Mercedes was born. Then along came Diesel who
revolutionized transportation.
I don't remember the science curriculum but I do remember the library,
computers were those monsters that filled a whole building and if
somebody mentionedf the internet I would have thought spiders.

I remember Mazda bulbs but not valves, probably none on this side since
being heavy into toobz saw plenty of brands but no Mazda. Mullard, the
audiophile's choice if it wasn't Amperex. I beat them all using the
numbered broadcast/industrial versions and was swimming in 7025 (12AX7)
dual triode "pulls" from a local radio station's studio console. I had a
boat load from the transmitters too, always still tested good since tyhe
engineer swaped them out as part of the regular maintainence schedule.

Ah yes, the Yaqui indians, Tonto and the Lone Ranger. Yup, tonto means
silly or stupid, one of those things only Spanish speakers know. Another
funny thing, in the TV series Clayton Moore was Mr. Know-It-All and Jay
Silverheels although he didn't speak Pigin spoke in the strereotype tones
and inflections of a Hollywood "injun". If you've seen enough old
Westerns you know they were painted up White guys, Jay was one of the
first to break the color barrier.
