Hi Bob and all,
We have "grey gypsies" too and many not only belong to RV clubs but are
hams too. I remember them showing up at the Piscataway, NJ Field Day
site, that's how I became familiar with their lifestyle. The large RVs
have room for some pretty impressive operating positions and the roofs
loaded with all sorts of antennas and masts that can easily be erected
for temporary operation.
