As I have said before, I was raised on a farm and so became something of a
crap expert. The most evil because of the ammonia was chicken, by, that
really made your eyes water !
Horse was the best, almost pleasant, I forked over, literally tons of that
as my father was also a mushroom grower in a big way and those lovely,
white cultivated mushrooms you eat in restaurants are grown in horse
exhaust mixed with straw, french chalk and dried blood, to mention a few,
so someone has to mix it and turn it, transferring it from one x 3 ton
stack to another then, a few weeks later, back again, that gives it time to
compost/
All the time, you take it's temperature with a long thermameter because
there is a danger of spontaneus combustion among other things.
I made my mind up at 21 to never ever work on a farm again. City peope had
mental pictures of happy, sunny haymaking whereas all I remember is a lot
of shovelling.
NB I never say 'poo' or 'tummy' for that matter. They are words used by
and to, little girls and I am an adult. I never used them myself as a
child, We usually said 'muck' and 'belly' or 'abdomen'. Naturally, I
learned more euphemisms for sh*t when I went to high school.
