From my Mother's Handwritten exercise book (cookbook)
8oz Butter (most of a stick)
2 Cups of Flour about 1/2 a litre
4 Tablespoonms of sugar (1 tablespoon = 15mls]
Instructions
Cream butter and sugar
Work the flour in
Cook at 165 Cescuis or 325 degrees F for 1 hour
Alternatively 300 F for 30 to 40 miinutes
Do not burn ot brown too much in the oven (not microwave)
Leave the completed bake a nice yellow colour or crisp when pricked with a
small fork.
