Especially dr OM Henry.
Quite a while ago you wrote a piece about : Food...we all
need
Ugh.
Yes and rightly so. That reminds me of a trip I took to
Germany , about 7 years ago. In Berlin , their main city.
There was, maybe still there is, a place, opened by Africans
, not shure now if it where Nigerians , Kenians or else.
They opend a nice , clean place , comparable to the rest of
the City, and offered home made, original meals. Namely the
stuff from their native land and environs.
Sorry to say, the place was not impressively frequented.
I assume that much was frozen stuff, but prepared by an
"authenthic' African and served with all due respects to the
laws concerning health, cleanliness and absence of harmful
bacteria - virusses or politicians...
I had a good impression.
My guide , a native "Berliner" Who has traveled the world,
lived in Japan for several years, and endured chinese food
in the original, said : I wouldn't touch it. One never
knows...there is so much ... ...
He of all persons. There are people travelling to the
himalayas for the highest mountains, seek adventure in all
of darkest Africa, and proudest themselves with experiences
far beyound the next best bureaucrat. They dare not
try...the best Africa has to offer in their own midst.
Hospitals of the finest sort would be nearby, all doctors ,
and remind you - the "THE" Tropical Institute is located in
Berlin. ... they don't dare.
These people are ready to break their neck at helicopter
outings, swim with sharks in South-African Waters, jump into
Lions cages and slap even state Officials.
They don't dare to try African cuisine...
I have been there. I have not tried it - not because-! I
come from there = you know ? I wanted to get to the original
German cuisine. Sauerkraut, Harzer cheese and what else.
Eqally poisonous...
Ahhh, yes , Adventure. People do the daftest things, walk to
the "Pole", hang from bridges on rubber bands, Sky the
darndest tracks, swim with the meanest creatures, race the
meanest machines and try their life in the hostilest
coutries imaginable. But , just try to get them to try a
bite of something...foreign...youll see "Faces" you havent
imagined ..yet... youll Love it .
Food , the final Frontier. Ask any Frech "Chef" Ugh.
Henry , you would know : Was der Bauer nicht kennt , dass
frisst er nicht !

Maybe that explains why the "French" haven't won any big war
lately... Hehe.
Never mind. Thank the Brit for burned toast
