It's all very well telling me to keep my mouth shut, however.....
My neighbour happens to be a good friend as well as a good neighbour. If
he suspects the problem IS with my equipment, then he's not the kind of
guy to go involving OFCOM, he will deal with it in his own way, which if
the local legends about him and his family are true, then I dont want to
go down that road, as after all, I have got to live with the situation,
not you, not anybody else, but ME!
I agree, his alarm system is total crap. It is a cheap and nasty system,
very old, and about as much use as the proverbial tits on a fish.
HOWEVER.... I just dont have the space to be able to site my HF antenna
setup any further away than what it is now.
Tell you what Andy, GM7HUD, why dont you come round here, and tell him
what you told me? I doubt you will get very far.......
I wanted some practical technical advice, NOT a scathing lecture on the
do's and donts of amateur radio. I am more than aware of EMC issues &
admission of liability etc. If you had read my original post correctly, I
stated that he doesnt suspect me..... yet. However, I have offered to go
halves on a decent detector, as and when he decides to change it, as I
dont want any future problems. Believe me, If he had suspected me in the
first place, I would have some part of my anatomy very sore and bruised by
now..... That is the kind of guy we are dealing with here.
And I have got to live with him, YOU havent.
