How's about when asking if a frequency is in use, one could say:-
"Open channel D..."
"Spectrum is green..."
"FAB..."
Been a while since I went on HF - So I'm not sure if the above is
still standard practice anymore. I doubt my FT-847 would like that
sort of slang going through it's boards...
Not big fan of somebody coming into a QSO with "BREAK", not only illegal
but very impolite - Even if you know who it is! Nothing wrong with
inserting one's Callsign "2E0PZT" or "Break please, 2E0PZT".
How's about the classic "M3AAA returning to M3ZZZ" (drop carrier),
hang on - Didn't you do that at the START of the over ???
(I've heard a few M3s, but also a few M1s aswell)
