Ian G0TEZ in a Bull.

Was wondering easy it was to recover Etc any Files once deleted.

I was faced with this problem a couple years ago when I had access to a large
number of Redundant PC's from a Large Local company.

I was given them to " Re Cycle " basicaly for the Local scouts and for our
radio club to use on the strict understanding that the HD would be Cleared of
ALL Files relevent to the company, not so easy a task BUT as most were old
486 and up to Pentium P2's it was easy enough to simply format the hard drive
and doing a Low Level Format and re installing with W98 complied with the
MD's Requirements, UNTIL ?

The Media came up with the information about the PC specialists who could
recover almost anything from a HD going back many layers.

This Companies MD then came up with the solution ?

1: Remove Hard Drive.
2: Fit 3/8 Drill into drill press.
3: Drill down through HD Disk section, effectivly breaking the Disk Etc.

Thus effectivly also removing any potential use for each and every PC for me
becouse replacing the HD would make it no longer cost effective as I was !!!
GIVING them away Just charged price of a Pint for my Efforts.

Company was now faced with Cost of alternative Hazard waste scrapping !!!

So for Total Security ? DRILL A HOLE Through the Disk !!!
